On March 5, 2021, an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Abdumalik Makhmudovich Khakimov was held at the Department of Otolaryngology and stomatology

Professor Khakimov Abdumalik Mahmudovich (1941-2020)

Professor A.M. Khakimov headed the department in 1991-2011, transferred to him by Professor A.I. Muminov. In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Characteristics of acquired hearing loss in children and the importance of the factor of individuality in their pathogenesis.” Under his leadership, the defense of 3 doctoral, 14 candidate dissertations were carried out. He is the author of 1 textbook, over 20 educational and methodological developments and 3 copyright patents.

In 2001, a magistracy was created at the department in the direction of otorhinolaryngology, as well as cadets of Republican higher medical educational institutions, medical colleges managed to improve their qualifications at this department.

The Tashkent Medical Academy was established in 2005 to train graduates of medical universities in Uzbekistan in accordance with state programs for reforming the health care system in the field of reforming medical education in Uzbekistan. The Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Academy was formed as a result of the merger of two registered departments. Professor A.M. Khakimov was appointed head of the department.

He served in this position until 2011. Khakimov Abdumalik Mahmudovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, was born in 1941. In 1964 he graduated from the medical faculty of TashPMI. In 1964-1970 he worked as a military therapist (in Belarus, Hungary, Czechoslovakia). In 1970 he worked in the ENT clinic of Tashkent State Medical Institute; resident, postgraduate student, assistant, associate professor, professor, head of the department (1992-2010). Scientific direction: pathology of the inner ear, auditory and vestibular analyzer. From 1989 to 2000, he held the positions of Deputy Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

For more than 10 years he has been the chairman of the Association of Otorhinolaryngologists of Uzbekistan, the chief specialist of the Ministry of Health.

He was twice awarded by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan with the badge “Excellence in Health” and the Certificate of Honor of the Central Council of the Trade Union of Health Workers of Uzbekistan.
