
Professor Hakimov Abdumalik Mahmudovich (1941-2020)
Professor A.M.Hakimov headed the department in 1991-2011, which was transferred to him by Professor A.I.Muminov. In 1992, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Characteristics of acquired hearing loss in children and the significance of the individual factor in their pathogenesis.” Under his supervision, 3 doctoral and 14 candidate dissertations were defended. He is the author of 1 textbook, more than 20 educational and methodological developments, and 3 author’s patents.

In 2001, a master’s program in otorhinolaryngology was established under the department, and students of higher medical educational institutions and medical colleges were able to improve their qualifications at this department.

The Tashkent Medical Academy was established in 2005 to train graduates of Uzbek medical universities in accordance with state programs for reforming the healthcare system in the field of reforming medical education in Uzbekistan. The Academy’s Department of Otorhinolaryngology was formed as a result of the merger of two registered departments. Professor A.M. Hakimov was appointed as the head of his department.

He worked in this position until 2011. Hakimov Abdumalik Mahmudovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, born in 1941. In 1964 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of Tashkent State Medical Institute. In 1964-1970 he worked as a military therapist (in Belarus, Hungary, Czechoslovakia). In 1970, he worked at the TashGMI ENT clinic; as a resident, postgraduate student, assistant, associate professor, professor, and department head (1992-2010). Scientific direction: pathology of the inner ear, auditory and vestibular analyzer. From 1989 to 2000, he worked as Deputy Dean and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.

For more than 10 years, he has been the chairman of the Association of Otorhinolaryngologists of Uzbekistan, the chief specialist of the Ministry of Health.
Awarded twice by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan with the “Excellence in Health” badge and the Certificate of Merit of the Central Council of the Trade Union of Healthcare Workers of Uzbekistan.
